This walk is memorable due to the heritage and cultural value of the area in which it runs. The Burren Forest is an archaeological area of national importance. All of the area in which the walk runs is part of the proposed UNESCO Geopark extension to the current Marble Arch Caves European Geopark. In addition, the walk provides excellent views of Cuilcagh Mountain, Lough McNean and on a fine day, Lough Allen in Co. Leitrim. The walk takes you through the forest past megalithic tombs and ancient field systems. Picnic tables and information panels are in place.
