One of the largest cemeteries in the Southeast, Westview spans over 500 acres and boasts some of the city's oldest structures. Founded in 1884, the cemetery features a large Jewish section, a Civil War Memorial and is the final resting place of many famous Atlantans, including Mayor William B. Hartsfield, Asa Candler, the founder of the Coca-Cola company, and author, Joel Chandler Harris. Westview's majestic stone Mausoleum and Chapel, constructed in 1943, features beautiful stained glass windows and religious paintings.
