The Hop Pole, Upper Bristol Road. Situated about ten to fifteen minutes walk from the city centre, the Hop Pole bills itself as "a country pub in the city". Owned by Bath Ales it has a good range of food and drink. It's most notable feature is the beautiful beer garden - a real oasis in the summer and a favourite with local office workers. It's also just a hop across the road to Royal Victoria Park.
