This is the grander of this grand-looking hotel's two restaurants, the other, (Langtry's) having a generally more relaxed atmosphere. As one would expect from a hotel that has catered for the Clintons on their last visit to Birmingham, the food is particularly fine. A signature dish might be roasted monkfish with spring vegetables, but lobster and leek ravioli and star anise parfait with blackberry compote also go down well. The wine list is suitably serious, too. A four course fixed dinner is surprisingly good value at £32, whilst £35 should get an à la carte meal for one, including coffee.
