The inscription - dating from 1713 - on the façade of this old palace declares that it belonged to the city councillors, or sexmeros, who represented the rural districts. It's located in the pretty and tranquil square of the same name, next to the Romanesque-style San Julián Church. Look closely and you'll notice traces of flamboyant Gothic design around one of the upstairs windows. There's a lovely patio inside with renaissance-style columns supporting the upper floor. The remains of the original kitchen can still be seen. The Salamanca Chamber of Commerce use this building as their headquarters. The square outside is a pleasant place to rest and relax in the summer.
